NEWS Oct 12, 2022 American Airlines Set to Open 600-Room Staff-Only Hotel In October 2015, American Airlines announced their plans to build a new corporate campus next to their existing Fort Worth, Texas campus. Seven years later, the final addition to the new campus is almost completed, with the conference center and employee hotel scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2023. NEWS Sep 14, 2022 Israel Will Ban Four Engine Planes in 2023 Beginning on March 31, 2023 Israel will ban the Boeing 747 and other four engine aircraft in a statement from the Israel Airports Authority (IAA) in hopes of reducing noise and air pollution. The IAA also says it has told airlines that they will not be able to operate large aircraft at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) for the summer season. NEWS Sep 14, 2022 New York Court Approves $700 million in Additional Funding for SAS SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System), the Scandinavian flag carrier, officially secured the essential funding to continue operation. A United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York approved financing for the airline of over 700 Million USD. The Debtor-in-Possession (DIP) agreement's terms are almost identical to the ones SAS announced on August 14, 2022, with the financing credit agreement managed by Apollo Global Management. ROUTES Sep 10, 2022 LATAM Ecuador Resumes Service Between Quito and Miami After stopping service in January 2017, LATAM Ecuador has resumed its direct route between Quito and Miami with daily flights this winter. LATAM previously operated this route from May 2003 until January 2017. When it resumes, LATAM will be the second airline connecting the airport pairs, joining American Airlines.
