New Flights Launch Between Israel and Morocco
07/27/2021 - (Davis Turner) Due to the peace agreement negotiated last year by the United States, airlines can now fly between Morocco and Israel. As a result, El Al and Israir have now launched 5x and 3x weekly flights, respectively, between Marrakesh and Tel Aviv.
El Al Seeks to Potentially Acquire Competitor Arkia Airlines
10/21/2021 - (Joshua Kupietzky ) Israel's flag carrier El Al is reportedly in the process of acquiring fellow Israeli carrier Arkia. This consolidation of the country's aviation industry would leave just Israir as the only other operator. While not much news has come out about this potential purchase, it would create a huge shift in the Israeli aviation industry, as it would see the largest carrier in the country (El Al) absorb the second-largest (Arkia).
