Anyone who wanted a nice, peaceful break from working at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Monday did not get their wish, unfortunately, as a Southwest Airlines-branded tug plowed through a rec room. While no injuries or deaths have been reported, a strong belief is that somebody will need to explain what happened.
"Fresh Doughnuts In The Ready Room?"
On Monday, a break room was found trashed by a royal blue tug covered in debris, leaving a massive hole in the wall and pushing several tables up against one another.
A video of the aftermath was uploaded by the Instagram account @airport_ramplife. The 18-second clip shows large pieces of drywall scattered throughout the scene, along with knocked-over chairs and bent metal bars. The tug nearly missed a workstation with computers set up along the wall of the break room. The view currently has over 2,000 likes.
In the video, an employee's voice could be heard implying that somebody could have died if they were caught in the tug's path.
"did someone say there are fresh doughnuts in the ready room!!?," an Instagram user commented.

As of Wednesday morning, Southwest Airlines and Fort Lauderdale Airport don't have any public comments to share.
Fortunately, nobody was seriously harmed, and no serious equipment appeared to be damaged. Judging by the hole in the wall, it will probably be a while until workers can use it to have a nice cup of joe again. How the accident happened, however, remains a mystery.
Tugs can malfunction, leading to them having a direction of their own, even when they're unoccupied. Hopefully, the root of the problem didn't come from an act of incompetence.
But what do you think? Was this accident at Fort Lauderdale airport due to a malfunction or human error? Feel free to leave a comment down below!
