The shown route over Russia is about 12.800 km. As stated in the text, they flew around 14.700 km.
Routing was:
east Hungary, Constantia -Romania, north Turkey, Baku, very east Afghanistan, eastern Pakistan, New Delhi, just west of Singapore to Darwin. (according flightaware, / https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/LAV993P/history/20240803/0430Z/ENGM/YPDN /
Timewise: from the text above: "Oslo Gardermoen Airport at 6:30 AM on Saturday, August 3 and landed at Darwin International Airport at 6 AM on Saturday, August 4"
They did not land before their takeoff time on the same day, That can only happen, when you cross the dateline e.g. Japan to California.
Takeoff Sat Aug. 3, 06:52, landing on Aug 4, SUNDAY,06:45 (all lcl times)
