BOC Aviation Signs Lease Deal with United Airlines for Four Boeing Aircraft

On October 7, 2024, BOC Aviation, an aircraft leasing company, announced a significant lease transaction with United Airlines. The deal involves three Boeing 737 Max 9 and one Boeing 787-9 aircraft, all of which are already operational with United.

These aircraft are powered by advanced engines, with the 737 Max 9s equipped with CFM LEAP-1B engines and the 787-9 featuring General Electric's GEnx engines. This lease agreement continues the long-standing partnership between BOC Aviation and United Airlines. It supports United’s ongoing fleet renewal program, which is focused on enhancing fuel efficiency and reducing environmental impact through the use of next-generation aircraft.

BOC Aviation, headquartered in Singapore with offices in key cities, including Dublin, London, and New York, is one of the largest aircraft leasing companies worldwide. With a fleet of 680 aircraft, BOC Aviation leases planes to 93 airlines across 47 countries and regions. As of June 2024, the company continues to grow its portfolio, investing in new opportunities such as, fuel-efficient aircraft like the Boeing 737 Max and 787 Dreamliner.

The lease of these modern aircraft reflects United’s commitment to upgrading its fleet with more environmentally friendly options. The Boeing 737 Max 9 and 787-9 are known for their fuel efficiency and lower emissions, making them attractive choices for airlines aiming to reduce their carbon footprint.
 

BOC Aviation CEO, Steven Townend, highlighted the significance of this transaction, stating, “We are delighted to be supporting our long-time customer, United, once again, as it continues its fleet renewal program.
