What Happened

The incident occurred on September 12, 2026, when the small plane carrying Tiffany experienced trouble as it approached Wausau Downtown Airport and was forced to make an emergency landing on Lake Wausau, a reservoir along the Wisconsin River in Marathon County.

Local reporting from the Kenosha County Eye confirmed that Tiffany and the pilot were the only ones aboard when the aircraft went into the water.

First responders from area agencies reached the scene within minutes. Tiffany and the pilot swam around 150 feet until they found an area in the water shallow enough to stand in. No fatalities were reported.

Photos from the recovery operation, published by Wausau Pilot and Review, showed crews working to pull the aircraft from Lake Wausau the following day. Salvage teams used flotation equipment and a crane to lift the plane out of the water for transport and inspection.
