LAMEZIA TERME, ITALY – An easyJet Europe Airbus A320-200 was involved in a serious aviation incident on the morning of December 27, 2025, after suffering an uncontained engine failure during its descent into Lamezia Terme International Airport (SUF).

The aircraft was descending through Flight Level 250 (25,000 feet) approximately 50 nautical miles north of its destination when the crew reported a catastrophic failure of the No. 1 engine (left-hand side).
