This will help the airline to operate its entire schedule of flights from Amsterdam-Schiphol (AMS) using a 40% SAF blend from April 1. The significant increase in SAF usage is the latest milestone in Ryanair's ambitious target to operate 12.5% of all flights with SAF by 2030.

Further, it supports its Pathway to Net Zero by 2050 decarbonization objectives, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 32%.

"Increasing the usage of SAF in all Ryanair flights departing from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is a significant milestone that will allow the airline to decrease greenhouse gas emissions at the airport significantly," said Mr Küper.

He added, "They are excited to keep working with Ryanair to reduce emissions as they increase their annual SAF production capacity to 1.5 million tons per year by the end of 2023.”
