A video has been circulating on social media depicting an Emirates aircraft crashing in Abu Dhabi. The carrier has noticed this and rejected any claims of the video being true.
Fake Video
This video depicts an AI/game-generated Emirates aircraft with its engine on fire crashing in Abu Dhabi. The video has reportedly been circulating on social media outlets like X.
At the time of writing, the video is still able to be found on multiple outlets including YouTube.
The short video is very clearly computer-generated. It depicts an Emirates aircraft flying towards buildings with its left engine on fire. The aircraft slams into a building and explodes.
Putting the computer-generated fact aside, eagle-eyed individuals would easily be able to identify this video as being fake over the fact that the Emirates aircraft shown in the video is an Airbus A330-200.
Emirates retired the A330 over eight years ago in 2016. There are no A330s left flying in Emirates colors.
Furthermore, the A330's landing gear locks in a tilted position when deployed. This is not the case with the A330 shown in the video. This is another fact that proves the video is fake.
Emirates Responds
Emirates has reached out to multiple social media outlets but is not pleased with how slowly the outlets have responded to its requests to remove the video.

As such, Emirates released an official statement on its X page regarding the video, stating"We are aware of a video circulating on social media depicting an Emirates plane crash. Emirates confirms it is fabricated content and untrue."
The airline added, “We are in contact with the various social media platforms to remove the video or make clear that it is digitally created footage to avoid false and alarming information from circulating. Unfortunately, the platforms' responses to such content review requests are not quick enough, therefore necessitating this statement.”
"Safety is core to Emirates' brand and operations, and we regard such matters with utmost seriousness. We urge all audiences to always check and refer to official sources."
Emirates remains one of the safest airlines in the world. The carrier has only had one fatality in its history. This was in 2016 involving Emirates Flight 521, a Boeing 777-300 that crashed after failing to execute a successful go-around. While all 300 occupants escaped safely, an airport firefighter sadly lost his life while battling the fire.

How anyone with an ounce of intelligence could view that video and not see that it is fake, in unbelievable! Some people are so gullible! If it were true, tell me the video could have been made? Other aircraft flying in formation with it?
