Last November, Frontier Airlines made shock waves across the aviation industry after it unveiled its GoWild pass, allowing passengers to book unlimited free flights. The GoWild pass, once purchased, would give passengers unlimited flights for 12 months.
Although further discoveries by customers revealed that the GoWild pass might not have been as good as it seemed, the promotion was nonetheless a sales booster for the airline. As such, it is no surprise that Frontier launched a similar version of the GoWild pass this week, giving passengers unlimited flights for one month.
The ultra-low-cost carrier has just launched a monthly version of the brand-new and popular all-you-can-fly pass, commonly known as the GoWild Pass. This modified version allows passengers to book unlimited flights for one month for a much-reduced fee.
Given the popularity of the GoWild Pass, Frontier hopes the reduced fare of the monthly version will increase sales. Availability for the new pass is limited and is sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The 12-month-long all-you-can-fly GoWild Pass was initially priced at $599 per passenger. This new month-long version will only cost passengers $149. The downside, however, is that its life span is much shorter. Frontier travelers can only book unlimited flights for 30 days with the Monthly GoWilds Pass.
Frontier also offers a GoWild Fall and Winter Pass that allows passengers to book unlimited flights from September 2nd through February 29th for $299.
The airline has chosen a month-long GoWild as a way for frequent flyers to test out the unique program without the financial commitment of the other programs. The airline has marketed all the GoWild passes as a very productive way for travelers to save on airfare while traveling across North America on the Frontier network.
Rules and Regulations
The GoWild Pass has a few unique rules and regulations that passengers should be familiar with before purchasing. Any of the passes can be used to book unlimited domestic and international flights. For passengers using their GoWild Pass on domestic flights, booking can be confirmed the day before departure. Those looking to book an international itinerary can secure their seats starting ten days before departure. With that said, the GoWild pass covers passengers' standard airfare but does not cover any additional fees and add-ons for bags or seats.
Furthermore, travelers flying on flights booked using their GoWild pass cannot earn award miles or status through the Frontier Miles program. Travelers can only book flights on the airline's website, meaning all third-party travel sites are out of the picture.
The GoWild pass and the GoWild Monthly pass come at a time of expansion for the airline. Frontier has been drastically expanding its route network this summer as its grown its presence in Cleveland (CLE), San Fransico (SFO), and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), among others including opening a crew base in DFW. With this expanding route network, Frontier is opening up more opportunities for pass holders to visit new cities for low prices.
