Ryanair, the largest airline in Europe, revealed on April 12 that it had expanded its collaboration with Neste, a leading sustainable aviation fuel supplier.
This will help the airline to operate its entire schedule of flights from Amsterdam-Schiphol (AMS) using a 40% SAF blend from April 1. The significant increase in SAF usage is the latest milestone in Ryanair's ambitious target to operate 12.5% of all flights with SAF by 2030.
Further, it supports its Pathway to Net Zero by 2050 decarbonization objectives, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 32%.

Increasing SAF usage is a key component of Ryanair's Pathway to Net Zero by 2050 decarbonization plan. This growth in Amsterdam would cut greenhouse gas emissions from Ryanair flights there by 32%.
Ryanair looks forward to developing its alliance with Neste as it advances towards its target of operating 12.5% of all flights with SAF by 2030.
Neste's Vice President EMEA, Renewable Aviation, Alexander Küper, stated that “the decarbonization of aviation is crucial, and Neste is proud to assist Ryanair in achieving its ambitious Pathway to Net Zero by 2050.”
"Increasing the usage of SAF in all Ryanair flights departing from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is a significant milestone that will allow the airline to decrease greenhouse gas emissions at the airport significantly," said Mr Küper.
He added, "They are excited to keep working with Ryanair to reduce emissions as they increase their annual SAF production capacity to 1.5 million tons per year by the end of 2023.”
