A Strategic Addition to the Network

Las Vegas officially becomes the 101st destination in the Qantas network and its eighth gateway in the Americas.

The service is timed to coincide with a "perfect storm" of high-profile gatherings in Nevada:

  • CES (Consumer Electronics Show): The world’s premier tech event.
  • NRL Las Vegas Festival: The National Rugby League’s annual season opener, which has seen fully booked charter flights for the past three years.
  • Entertainment Residencies: High-demand performances from global superstars and proximity to the Grand Canyon.

Flight Schedule

Qantas will deploy its Boeing 787 Dreamliner for this route, utilizing the aircraft's long-range efficiency to make the 13-hour and 55-minute journey possible.

Leadership Insights

The expansion is a direct result of Qantas’ ongoing fleet renewal program. According to Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace, the flexibility of new aircraft allows the airline to test "seasonal services to destinations people want to visit at certain times of year."

From the American perspective, Steve Hill, CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, noted that Australia has consistently been the city's second-largest overseas market. This direct link addresses the largest international market that previously lacked a non-stop connection to Las Vegas.
