JetBlue to Expand in Puerto Rico with the Addition of Two New Routes

JetBlue has unveiled plans to provide more low-fare, high-quality flights to "La Isla del Encanto" by introducing two new routes from Puerto Rico.

The airline will offer year-round service from San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina and from Aguadilla's Rafael Hernández International Airport (BQN) to Tampa International Airport (TPA) in Florida.

Robin Hayes, the CEO of JetBlue, expressed excitement about the airline's continued expansion in Puerto Rico and the addition of two new routes.

As the largest airline in Puerto Rico, the growth of JetBlue's presence on the island will increase competition and choices for customers travelling to and from Puerto Rico, Raleigh, and Tampa. Additionally, the expansion aligns with the company's commitment to supporting tourism on the island and connecting families and friends.

The CEO added that the much-loved JetBlue experience, which combines low fares with award-winning service, will be extended to customers travelling between Puerto Rico and the US mainland after completing the combination with Spirit.

Governor of Puerto Rico, Pedro Pierluisi, expressed his excitement regarding the announcement of additional JetBlue direct flights between Puerto Rico and the US mainland.

The executive director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, Carlos Mercado Santiago, and JetBlue's partner, announced the incorporation of these new routes.

The increased network links two of the main airports in Puerto Rico to important markets in the contiguous United States, offering travellers even greater opportunities to discover and experience the variety of offerings available on the island.

He added that they value the longstanding alliance between the Government of Puerto Rico and JetBlue and that they look forward to continuing to provide excellence in the visitor experience while increasing tourism’s contribution to local economies.
