NEWS Jan 09, 2024 Two Silver Airways ATR-72s Collide at Fort Lauderdale Airport On January 5, two Silver Airways ATR-72 turboprop aircraft collided at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Shortly before 8:00 a.m. local time, one Silver Airways ATR-72 with registration N702SV clipped the tail of another ATR-72 (N708SV). Japan Airlines lost an Airbus A350-900 in a fiery crash, Alaska Airlines is scrambling to salvage its fleet, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grounded 171 Boeing aircraft for safety reasons. The latter two events are due to an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 suffering a mid-air incident on January 5.
