The brand new LAX Delta One Lounge is opening on October 10th at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This is followed by the another Delta lounge opened at John F. Kennedy Airport's (JFK) Terminal 4, just a few months ago in June this year. 

With the prime motive of wanting guests to feel welcomed and valued from the moment they step in - to retaining them throughout the time a guest can afford, The Delta One Lounge is entering a new era. 

For a traveller, stepping into an airport can be a surreal experience – an airport can provide comfort or create chaos. Still, each airport these days is competing to lead the rest with its uniqueness. The Delta One Lounge truly believes that ‘Your journey begins before you leave the ground, and for that reason, they have thoughtfully designed culinary ingredients by renowned chefs, works of art, reserve wine and spirits curated by celebrity mixologists, and exclusive spaces with local influence to provide best-in-class experience. 

Delta One Lounge in a Nutshell

The core of the Delta One Lounge is to be premium, high-end and luxury experience that is to be revered - from the marbles, seating, high ceilings, brass accents, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the tarmac and an area for every type of pre-flight experience, and overall ambience that can transport you to the set of “The Great Gatsby” (only in imagination).

The Delta One Lounge is only for customers flying “Delta One” and “Delta 360”- an annual, invitation-only membership for only the most loyal Delta SkyMiles members. “People who want to have the next level premium experience will have a great time here, and I believe it is the most premium lounge in North America and probably in the world said CEO of Delta Airlines - Ed Bastian.

The Delta One Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport

Although smaller in size when compared to their lounge in New York (39,000 square feet), Delta's new lounge at LAX will be located in Terminal 3 and be around 10,000 square feet in size. For reference, Terminal 3  (which is connected airside from all terminals- heaven for not only business-class and premium travellers but for plane spotters and aviation enthusiasts) will be directly accessible by elevator from the Delta One check-in area. 

With fewer long-haul flights and limited guests - Delta’s long-haul international network out of Los Angeles is restricted, with destinations including Paris (CDG), Sydney (SYD), and Tokyo (HND) on a year-round basis, and Auckland (AKL), Brisbane (BNE), and Tahiti (PPT), on a seasonal basis. It is an advantage for first and business-class passengers flying the partner airlines – Air France, KLM, Korean Air, Virgin Atlantic, and LATAM, to use the lounge. Despite its opening day being less than two weeks away, the amenities at the lounge have not yet been revealed and remain a mystery.

Expansion

After John F. Kennedy International Airport (New York) and Los Angeles International Airport, the Delta One Lounge is set to make its grand entry in Boston Logan International Airport in the fourth quarter of 2024 in terminal E. The Delta One lounge at Boston will be just 6,300 square feet in size and will be connected to the Delta Sky Club already present at the airport.
