Etihad Introduces New 'Wi-Fly' In-Flight Service

Etihad Airways, one of the two national airlines of the UAE, has introduced new Wi-Fly packages named ‘Chat’ and ‘Surf’ to enable easy connectivity, messaging with family and friends, and web browsing while traveling on Etihad’s wide-body fleet.

 

All Etihad passengers can avail themselves of complimentary ‘Chat’ messaging throughout the flight by enrolling online or signing in with an Etihad Guest membership before boarding.

Etihad’s Wi-Fly


The free 'Chat' package provides complimentary messaging access to popular messaging apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, and WeChat throughout the entire flight for all Etihad guests.

 


Passengers can also purchase the 'Surf' package, which offers unlimited data for a flat fee, to surf the internet and work while they fly.

The Chat package costs $2.99 or is free for Etihad Guest members for flights under 7 hours, and $4.99 or free for Etihad Guest members for flights over 7 hours. The Surf package costs $9.99 for flights under 7 hours and $19.99 for flights over 7 hours.


Etihad Guest Platinum and Exclusive tier members and guests travelling in Etihad's First Class cabins can enjoy complimentary Surf Wi-Fly access throughout their flight, while Etihad Guest Gold members will receive a 25% discount on the Surf package.

 

 

Executive Insights


Antonoaldo Neves, the CEO of Etihad Airways, expressed his excitement about the new Wi-Fly services being offered to guests on the airline's wide-body fleet. 


Neves emphasized the importance of staying connected while traveling and highlighted the unlimited data offered with the new plans.

He also encouraged guests to sign up before their flights to immediately take advantage of the new benefit. The airline's modern technology and fleet of wide-body aircraft are designed to provide an enjoyable connected experience for guests throughout their journey.

 

In addition, the current mobile connectivity service on the airline's narrow-body fleet remains available for guests to make phone calls, send text messages, and use their data roaming packages as they would on the ground.

 

Entertainment for All


Etihad Airways not only provides mobile and internet connectivity but also offers an award-winning in-flight entertainment service, E-BOX, to cater to a diverse range of travelers.

Apart from a vast collection of blockbuster movies from Hollywood, Bollywood, Arabic, Asian and European content, guests can also enjoy TV shows, music, podcasts, and games. 


For sports enthusiasts, seven live broadcast sports and news TV channels are available to stay updated with current affairs or watch live matches while onboard.

 


Etihad's comfortable cabins, delicious food, and renowned Arabian hospitality from the cabin crew ensure that guests who want to switch off and relax can do so on any aircraft.
