Embraer Delivers First Praetor 600E to Flexjet

Embraer has delivered the first Praetor 600E business jet to Flexjet, the fractional ownership operator that served as the launch customer for the updated aircraft. The handover, announced September 18, 2026, marks the entry into service of a jet Embraer positions as an evolution of its Praetor 600, with cabin technology upgrades leading the changes.

The aircraft is the first delivered under a $7 billion agreement Flexjet and Embraer announced in February 2025, covering a firm order for 182 aircraft, plus options for an additional 30 aircraft, alongside an expanded services and support package. At the time it was announced, the deal stood as both the largest executive jet order ever placed by Flexjet and the largest single order in the history of Embraer Executive Jets.

What Is New on the 600E

The Praetor 600E keeps the performance profile of the original Praetor 600 but introduces meaningful cabin updates. The headline feature is Embraer's Smart Window, a 42-inch 4K OLED touchscreen built into the cabin that can display video content and live views from three external cameras, enabling video conferencing and high-resolution video streaming for passengers. Embraer describes the Praetor 600E as the world's first certified aircraft equipped with a fully operational Smart Window.

Beyond the Smart Window, the Praetor 600E and its stablemate, the Praetor 500E, incorporate a reimagined cabin with all-new Embraer-designed seating featuring ergonomic design, electric-assisted seat controls, and seamless berthing into a lie-flat configuration. 

The aircraft retains the Praetor 600's published range of 4,018 nautical miles carrying four passengers under NBAA IFR reserve conditions, allowing nonstop flights between city pairs such as London and New York or São Paulo and Miami.

Flexjet's Role as Launch Partner

Flexjet, based in Cleveland, Ohio, operates a fleet of business jets under a fractional ownership model that lets customers buy shares of specific aircraft rather than full ownership. The company's relationship with Embraer dates back more than two decades.

Market Context

The Praetor 600E enters a super-midsize segment that includes competitors from Bombardier, Textron Aviation, and Gulfstream. Embraer has used cabin experience as a differentiator for its Praetor line, and the Smart Window addition continues that strategy.

Business jet demand has remained steady since the pandemic-era surge, with fractional operators like Flexjet, NetJets, and VistaJet placing large orders to refresh and expand their fleets. Embraer's executive aviation division has reported strong backlog growth in recent quarters, driven in part by the Flexjet agreement.
