Delta Sets Firm October 2026 Launch for Historic Atlanta–Riyadh A350 Service

Delta Air Lines has officially locked in the launch date for its highly anticipated nonstop service to Saudi Arabia, marking a milestone as the first U.S. carrier to offer direct flights to the Kingdom's capital.

The inaugural flight from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport (RUH) is scheduled for October 23, 2026. This 7,283-mile journey will become one of the longest in Delta’s global network, clocking in at over 15 hours on the westbound return.

Flight Schedule and Frequency

Delta will initiate the route with a special daily service for the first week of operations (Oct 23–30) to meet initial launch demand. Following the inaugural week, the schedule will transition to a consistent three-times-weekly year-round rotation.

The Flagship Experience

Delta will deploy its flagship Airbus A350-900 on the route, specifically configured to provide a premium experience for the ultra-long-haul flight. The aircraft will feature 275 seats across four distinct cabin tiers:

Delta One Suites (40): Full height doors, lie-flat beds, and luxury bedding.

Delta Premium Select (40): Wider seats with deeper recline and elevated dining.

Delta Comfort+ (36): Dedicated overhead space and extra legroom.

Main Cabin (159): Ergonomic seating with 10.1-inch inflight entertainment.

The launch is strategically timed to coincide with the operational ramp-up of Riyadh Air, Delta’s new partner. While Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" project is a primary driver, the route is also bolstered by significant government subsidies aimed at positioning Riyadh as a premier global aviation hub.

Strategic Impact

The new link provides the only one stop connection from over 150 U.S. cities to Saudi Arabia via Atlanta. For business travellers, the flight arrives in Riyadh in the evening, allowing for a full night’s rest before meetings begin the next morning. For leisure travellers, it opens a direct gateway to Saudi Arabia's emerging luxury tourism destinations like AlUla and the Red Sea.

By the time this route launches, Delta will have significantly expanded its intercontinental footprint, with other 2026 additions including Hong Kong, Malta, and Porto.
