Air India has announced the launch of its new Premium Economy class, set to be implemented on flights between India and the United States. Starting May 15, passengers will be able to travel in Premium Economy on three routes operated with the airline's Boeing 777-200LR aircraft: Bangalore to San Francisco, Mumbai to San Francisco, and Mumbai to New York.

The introduction of premium economy on international flights means that Air India now offers four cabin classes: First, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy. Air India plans on launching the new cabin on additional routes in the future. This announcement is part of a major restructuring that is currently happening within the company to make it more profitable, and the airline sees premium economy as a way to attract more passengers.

"The popularity of Premium Economy has grown among travelers around the world, as people are increasingly opting for upgraded, yet affordable flying experiences," said Campbell Wilson, CEO of Air India. "We are delighted to introduce a distinctive Premium Economy experience for our customers on select flights for now, with a plan to extend it to many more routes soon, as we rapidly expand and modernize our fleet. This is another step forward in our sincere, ongoing effort to transform Air India into a modern, global carrier of world-class products and service standards."

Air India has announced several upgrades as part of its five-year transformation plan. The airline's goal is to establish itself as a major player in the global aviation industry. Tata Group, which purchased Air India in January 2022, aims to significantly increase the number of international routes in operation. Premium Economy is attractive to customers because it can offer more amenities without having to spend significantly more money on a flight ticket. Air India's premium economy services will include priority check-in, seats with more legroom, and noise-canceling headphones.

Harprit Grewal Air India is a useless airline. Getting to be one of the worlds best airline, must be a joke!!!!!! The only way they can do it is by firing all the current employees and start again!!! Keep dreaming.
