West Star Aviation Dominates Mid-Atlantic MRO Market with Strategic Acquisition of DCJet Services

EAST ALTON, IL — West Star Aviation has officially signaled a major consolidation in the business aviation maintenance sector, finalizing its acquisition of field maintenance and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) specialist DCJet Services. Announced today, March 3, 2026, the deal represents an aggressive move by the Greenbriar-backed MRO giant to cement its status as the world’s largest independent AOG network, significantly expanding its reach into high-traffic corridors and the Caribbean.

The acquisition brings 106 specialized staff members into the West Star fold, instantly boosting the company’s AOG-ready roster from 200 to more than 250 expert technicians. By absorbing DCJet’s strategically located bases at Washington Dulles (KIAD), Chicago Midway (KMDW), Orlando (KMCO), Seattle Boeing Field (KBFI), and Luis Muñoz Marín International in San Juan (TJSJ), West Star has effectively plugged geographic gaps where its field support was previously limited.

Strengthening the National AOG Net

The deal reflects a broader industry trend toward "rapid response" capabilities as business aviation operators prioritize minimizing downtime amid an aging global fleet and tightening maintenance slots. West Star CEO Stephen Maiden emphasized that the synergy between the two companies was rooted in a shared operational philosophy:

"DCJet has earned a strong reputation for how they show up for customers, quickly, professionally, and with deep technical capability. Their culture and approach fit naturally with ours. Together, we are strengthening our ability to support business aviation operators nationwide with faster response, greater coordination, and even more technical depth in the field."

For DCJet, a veteran-owned company founded by Joe Ortiz, the merger provides the capital and scale necessary to compete on a global level while maintaining its hallmark "road trip" support agility. Ortiz, who will join West Star’s senior leadership team to lead a significant portion of its fleet business unit, stated:

"By joining West Star Aviation, we gain additional scale and resources while staying focused on what has always defined DCJet: taking care of the customer, working as a team, and delivering solutions where and when they are needed most."

Integration and Operational Outlook

A West Star spokesperson confirmed to industry analysts that the company plans a "measured integration" to ensure continuity of service for existing clients. "There isn't overlap," the spokesperson noted, "DCJet was in regions we were not heavily supporting, but now can. The changes coming are designed to enhance how we support day-to-day operations for both our staff and customers. We are increasing coverage, support, and capabilities across our leading AOG network. This means faster responsiveness, more resource availability, and improved ability."

The acquisition follows the recent appointment of Brian Howell as Chief Commercial Officer, highlighting West Star’s intent to leverage its new, larger footprint to capture a greater share of the fractional and managed aircraft fleet market.

New Officially Published AOG Support Operations

To support the newly integrated locations, West Star has published a revised logistics schedule for its AOG Support and Technical Courier Flights. These operations are designed to shuttle critical parts and specialist technicians between primary hubs and the new DCJet-legacy stations.
