The photos are telling. This was a big RUD event, hence the need to close the rwy until all debris was collected (for both FOD concerns and accident analysis). More importantly, if this was not shoddy maintenance, there will need to be answers why such a failure was so severe. I fear the consequences of another poor design choice forced by Boeing middle management for the sake of metrics and shareholder dividends. I do hope not, but FAFO if it turns out to have been Boeing=preventable. Again.
