NetJets Expands US Footprint With Three New Private Terminals and Larger Palm Beach Facility

NetJets, the private aviation company owned by Berkshire Hathaway, has announced plans to add three new exclusive-use terminals across the United States while expanding its existing presence at Palm Beach International Airport. The move signals continued investment in dedicated infrastructure for the company's growing owner base.

The expansion will bring new private terminals to Dallas Love Field (DAL), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Palm Beach International Airport (PBI). Each facility will operate exclusively for NetJets owners and their guests, offering a controlled environment separate from standard fixed-base operator traffic.

A Larger Footprint at Palm Beach

Palm Beach has long been one of the busiest markets in private aviation, and NetJets intends to reinforce its position there with a significantly larger facility. The company's existing terminal at PBI will be replaced by a new, expanded space designed to accommodate higher owner volumes and provide additional amenities.

The Palm Beach region continues to attract high-net-worth travelers year-round, with demand particularly strong during the winter season. The new terminal reflects the company's response to sustained growth in the market and the need for infrastructure that matches the scale of its operations.

New Terminals in Dallas and Washington

Dallas Love Field will host a dedicated NetJets terminal serving one of the fastest-growing business aviation hubs in the country. Love Field's proximity to downtown Dallas has made it a preferred option for executives and private travelers seeking efficient access to the metroplex.

Washington Dulles will receive a similar exclusive-use facility, giving NetJets owners direct access to the capital region through one of its primary international gateways. The addition at IAD complements the company's broader footprint in the Northeast corridor and provides a dedicated option for travelers moving in and out of Washington.

Together, the three projects represent one of the more substantial infrastructure expansions NetJets has undertaken on US soil in recent years.

Executive Commentary

NetJets leadership framed the expansion as a direct response to owner demand and a continuation of its investment strategy in private terminal infrastructure.

"Our Owners trust us to deliver a seamless, elevated experience from the moment they arrive at the airport," said Patrick Gallagher, President of NetJets. The company has emphasized that exclusive-use terminals allow it to maintain tighter control over the ground experience, from arrival through departure.

By operating its own terminals rather than relying solely on third-party FBOs, NetJets can standardize service levels, reduce wait times, and provide a more private environment for its clientele. The strategy mirrors moves the company has made at other high-traffic locations where owner volumes justify dedicated facilities.

Context Within the Private Aviation Market

The announcement comes as the private aviation sector continues to adjust to post-pandemic demand patterns. While the extraordinary surge in new private flyers seen during 2020 and 2021 has moderated, overall activity remains well above pre-pandemic baselines. Fractional operators like NetJets have been among the primary beneficiaries, as owners seek guaranteed access without the full capital commitment of whole-aircraft ownership.

NetJets operates one of the largest private jet fleets in the world and serves owners across North America, Europe, and other key markets. The company has consistently invested in both fleet expansion and ground infrastructure, with the latter becoming an increasingly important differentiator as competition in the fractional and jet card segments intensifies.

Dedicated private terminals have emerged as a particular focus. For enthusiasts tracking the evolution of business aviation, the shift toward operator-controlled ground facilities represents a meaningful change from the traditional FBO model, where multiple operators share common infrastructure. Exclusive-use terminals allow brands like NetJets to deliver a consistent experience that matches the premium positioning of their in-flight product.

What Owners Can Expect

While specific opening dates and detailed design elements for each terminal have yet to be fully disclosed, the facilities are expected to include dedicated arrival areas, private lounges, direct ramp access, and amenities tailored to NetJets owners. The company has indicated that each location will reflect the character of its market while maintaining consistent service standards across the network.

For owners who fly frequently between the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Florida, the Palm Beach expansion and the new Dulles terminal will create additional continuity across heavily traveled routes. The Dallas Love Field addition rounds out coverage in a market where NetJets has seen steady growth.

Looking Ahead

The three announced projects add to an existing network of NetJets private terminals already operating at select US airports. The company has signaled that further investment in ground infrastructure remains a priority as it looks to accommodate continued growth in its owner base.

For the broader private aviation community, the expansion underscores a trend that has accelerated over the past several years. Operators are no longer competing solely on aircraft type, availability, or program flexibility. The ground experience, from the moment an owner pulls up to the terminal to the moment they board their aircraft, has become a central element of the value proposition.

NetJets' latest announcement reinforces that reality and sets the stage for additional infrastructure moves by competitors seeking to keep pace. For enthusiasts watching the evolution of the sector, the next several years are likely to bring continued expansion of dedicated private terminals at major US airports.
