Frontier Airlines, touted as America's Greenest Airline, recently announced it will be launching 11 new routes across 15 airports this fall. To celebrate, the low-cost carrier will be offering one-way tickets for as low as $19 one-way.
Expanded Service
Frontier will not only increase its route network from larger operations like Denver (DEN), Orlando (MCO), and Atlanta (ATL) but also grow a bit more in hotly-contested airports like Newark (EWR) and New York Kennedy (JFK).
These new routes will offer consumers with more low-cost travel options throughout the United States, as the carrier noted in its official press release.
Josh Flyr, Frontier's Vice President of Network and Operations Design, commented the following on the airline's recent announcement:
"As consumers look ahead to the fall and winter months and make their holiday plans, we are thrilled to once again expand our roster of convenient and affordable travel options. From warm weather destinations such as Southern California, Texas, and Florida or winter sports meccas in Utah and Colorado, to popular metropolitan areas like New York, Atlanta, and Washington D.C., there are now even more exciting destinations to choose from when flying Frontier."

The New Frontier
To curb losses, budget airlines like Frontier and Spirit recently introduced massive changes to their fare structure. Dubbed 'The New Frontier', the airline says that this underscores its commitment to providing exceptional value and a superior travel experience.

The new pricing structure offers passengers more upfront pricing and details about what amenities they get when booking specific fares.
Frontier will continue offering its basic fares that do not include amenities like seat selection, carry-on, or checked bags. However, for just $30 more, passengers can upgrade to the "Economy Bundle" which includes seat selection and one bag (carry-on or checked) in addition to the personal item.
Two higher bundle options include increasingly more perks, the highest being the "Business Bundle" which, while not granting a proper Business Class seat, does give you a blocked middle seat.
Frontier claims that its prices will always be the lowest on any given route. This includes the more accommodating fares such as the Economy Bundle. The airline will be competing more head-on with legacy airlines like Delta on many of these routes.

Competition in markets leads to lower fares, meaning that passengers will likely see prices on the aforementioned routes decreasing following Frontier's entry later this year.
Frontier continues to be the most fuel-efficient U.S. carrier thanks to its modern A320-family fleet mainly consisting of A320neos. Furthermore, its high-density seating layouts and weight-saving initiatives have contributed to the carrier achieving that title.
