Embraer Unveils Phenom 300EV With Garmin Autoland System for Enhanced Safety

Embraer has introduced the Phenom 300EV, the newest evolution of its best-selling light jet, now equipped with Garmin's Autoland emergency system. The Brazilian manufacturer announced the launch on July 14, 2026, as part of its ongoing effort to raise safety standards across the business aviation sector. The "EV" designation stands for Evolution, reflecting comprehensive enhancements across avionics, performance, and cabin experience.

Autoland Technology Arrives in the Phenom Family

The headline feature of the Phenom 300EV is the Garmin Emergency Autoland system, designed to bring the aircraft safely to the ground without human intervention. In a medical emergency or if the pilot becomes incapacitated, a passenger can activate the system with the press of a single button. The aircraft evaluates weather conditions, terrain, fuel reserves, and nearby airports, then communicates with air traffic control, navigates to the chosen airport, lands, and brings the aircraft to a complete stop. Engines shut down automatically and passengers receive instructions on how to exit.

On entry into service, the Phenom 300EV will become the largest business jet to feature Garmin Emergency Autoland, extending the technology beyond lighter aircraft where it has previously appeared, including the Piper M600 SLS, Cirrus Vision Jet, and Daher TBM 940. Alongside Autoland, the aircraft introduces class-exclusive Autobrake, an industry-first Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System (ROAAS), and Emergency Descent Mode.

A Refreshed Cockpit and Cabin Experience

The Phenom 300EV brings enhanced capabilities to the Garmin G3000 Prodigy Touch avionics platform, including 3D taxiway routing and runway situational awareness. A new Embraer-developed Multi-Purpose Electronic Controller (MEC) integrates rudder-by-wire and other electronically controlled aircraft functions, reducing pilot workload and simplifying maintenance.

Cabin refinements include an odorless vacuum lavatory, improved temperature control, a redesigned refreshment center, and an air ionization system. Starlink is also offered as a retrofit under a Supplemental Type Certificate.

Performance Remains Class-Leading

The Phenom 300EV extends the performance figures that made its predecessor the most delivered light jet for 14 consecutive years. It offers a maximum range of 2,055 nautical miles, up from 2,010 on the Phenom 300E, and a high-speed cruise of 464 knots. The aircraft can operate from runways as short as 3,209 feet, powered by two Pratt and Whitney Canada PW535E1 engines, seating up to 10 passengers and cruising at up to 45,000 feet.

Market Position and Deliveries

The Phenom 300 entered service in 2009, followed by the Phenom 300E in 2018. More than 900 aircraft across both variants have been delivered to date, with operators including Airshare, Flexjet, Wheels Up, and NetJets all featuring the type in their fleets.

Certification from ANAC, FAA, and EASA is expected later in 2026, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2028. The Phenom 300EV carries a list price of $13,995,000. Embraer is selling its last retail slots for the Phenom 300E and will no longer produce the outgoing model for retail customers once 300EV production begins.

The launch reinforces Embraer's position as a leading force in the business jet market and signals that automated emergency systems will play a growing role in aviation's future.
