Avianca decided to start offering business class service after its customers suggested that an additional cabin class would improve their travel experience. The Los Angeles-Bogotá route is the longest route that the airline operates in the Americas.

Passengers will have the opportunity to choose from five different seat sizes across economy and business class. Seats in economy class will be offered in Extra Small, Small, Medium, and Large while business class seats will be provided in Double Extra Large.

Avianca's Chief Commercial Officer Manuel Ambriz said, "We know that going to Bogotá is almost like going to Europe. It's a long trip and we want our customers to have the opportunity to enjoy more benefits. We listened to them, we made some internal adjustments and today we are implementing the option of flying in the business cabin on a flight of seven hours. We currently operate one daily flight between Los Angeles and Bogotá and we believe that this is an important development to the route."
