Avianca has started offering business class tickets on flights between El Dorado International Airport (BOG) in Bogotá and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Tickets were first placed on sale on June 1 for flights starting on July 1.
Passengers flying in business class receive a variety of benefits, including hot and cold beverages and three options for dinner or lunch. Avianca currently offers one daily flight on the Los Angeles-Bogotá route with Boeing 737 aircraft that have 28 seats in business class and 222 seats in economy class.

Avianca decided to start offering business class service after its customers suggested that an additional cabin class would improve their travel experience. The Los Angeles-Bogotá route is the longest route that the airline operates in the Americas.
Passengers will have the opportunity to choose from five different seat sizes across economy and business class. Seats in economy class will be offered in Extra Small, Small, Medium, and Large while business class seats will be provided in Double Extra Large.

Avianca flight AV83 will depart from Los Angeles at 8:45 pm PT and arrive in Bogotá at 5:45 am local time the following day. The return flight, AV 84, will leave Bogotá at 1:10 pm local time and arrive in Los Angeles at 7:00 pm PT on the same day.
Avianca's Chief Commercial Officer Manuel Ambriz said, "We know that going to Bogotá is almost like going to Europe. It's a long trip and we want our customers to have the opportunity to enjoy more benefits. We listened to them, we made some internal adjustments and today we are implementing the option of flying in the business cabin on a flight of seven hours. We currently operate one daily flight between Los Angeles and Bogotá and we believe that this is an important development to the route."

Avianca plans to offer the following amenities on the Los Angeles-Bogotá service for passengers in business class:
- Welcome drink
- Dinner or lunch with three menu options and snacks
- Liquor and beverages
- Blanket and pillow kit
- Amenity kit and mattress pad for night flights
- Complimentary entertainment system

Meanwhile, passengers flying in economy class have access to dinner or lunch with two menu options and a snack, liquor and beverages, a blanket and pillow kit on night flights, and a free entertainment system.
Avianca also offers direct flights to the following airports in the US, with Miami being a focus city for the airline:
- Logan International Airport (BOS)
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)
- Miami International Airport (MIA)
- John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
- Orlando International Airport (MCO)
- Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
The airline offers flights from the United States to multiple cities in Colombia, including Bogotá and Medellín.
